Congratulations, Daniel Sandbeck on successfully defending your dissertation and becoming Dr. Daniel Sandbeck!

12/12/2019   -   Congratulations, Dr. Daniel Sandbeck!

The title of Daniels thesis is "On the Dissolution of Platinum: From Fundamental to Advanced Catalytic Materials".

Daniel joined us in August of 2016, shortly after the group was established, and, thus, was the first PhD student. His research concentrated on stability of platinum fuel cell electrocatalysts. It spanned from very fundamental works on Pt single crystals to state-of-the art Pt/C and further to advanced oxide supported and ionic-liquid modified electrocatalysts. More details can be found in his thesis, which will be available online later. His research served as a starting point for our current activities on single crystals within a DFG funded project and more general topics related to fuel cell electrocatalysis within our numerous collaborations.

We wish Daniel best of luck in all future endeavors, wherever these may take him!
