Research Interest
Karsten Müller studied chemical engineering at the Technische Universität München and the University of Cape Town (South Africa). In 2009 he joined the Institute of Separation Science and Technology at the Friedrich Alexander Universität Erlangen Nürnberg where he received his doctorate 2013 for a thesis on the thermodynamics of carbon dioxide utilization reactions. After a stay at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (USA) in 2017, he received his habilitation in 2018 for his works on chemical energy storage systems. Since February 2019 he is head of the group at the Helmholtz Institute Erlangen-Nürnberg working on efficient hydrogen storage.
