Research interest

Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers provide an excellent storage medium for hydrogen. The hydrogen can then be released not only to provide energy, but also to serve as a highly pure reactant for hydrogenation reactions. For example, acetone can be catalytically transfer-hydrogenated by LOHC to produce isopropanol. The optimization of the catalyst used for this reaction can significantly improve the turnover of the reactants and the selectivity towards the desired alcohol. The optimal catalyst can then be used in other transfer hydrogenation reactions.
