Research interest

My research focuses on the dynamics of complex fluids. More in detail, I am interested in transport phenomena in inhomogenus systems such as porous materials and multidispersesuspensions. Recently, I have focused on the coupling between local chemical reactions and the transport phenomena that they can induce; this novel field embraces diverse systems spanning from the nanometric range of ionic fluids up to the micrometric scale of colloids and macromolecules.

My approach is theoretical and grounded on statistical mechanics. Within this scope, I exploit both analytical and numerical techniques including molecular dynamics and Lattice Boltzmann simulations.
