Research Interests

Preparation and development of electro-catalysts for Direct-LOHC-Fuel Cell.
Hydrogen obtained through electrolysis using renewable energy can serve as energy vector to store excess energy produced during energy-rich conditions. This hydrogen can be chemically bound to diesel-like substances referred as Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHCs) which can be transported in the already existing infrastructures for today’s fuels and efficiently stored for a long term. At the time of energy demand, hydrogen is released and the liquid carrier can be reloaded during further cycles. The direct use of LOHCs in fuel cells, referred as Direct-LOHC-Fuel Cell, has been recently proposed. This new technology concept has the advantage of saving both space and investment costs and avoid handling of gaseous hydrogen.
