Hydrogen for a sustainable energy-mobility ecosystem
HI ERN Director Prof. Dr. Karl Mayrhofer, together with representatives of Schaeffler AG, shed light on the important interplay between research in the metropolitan region and industrial implementation. The tandem lecture will take place as part of the "1. Herzogenauracher Universitätstage - Forschung im Blick" (1st Herzogenaurach University Days "Research at a glance").
As a clean energy carrier, hydrogen offers enormous potential to develop a sustainable energy-mobility ecosystem based on renewable energy sources. The integration of fuel cells and electrolysers into a comprehensive energy system enables the efficient and clean use of hydrogen, which can contribute to the stabilization and defossilization of the entire energy and mobility sector. In order to realize this, extensive investments in infrastructure, research and development as well as cooperation between politics, industry and science are required.
