CareerDay 2023 - Impulses for own career path
Erlangen, June 21, 2023 - The first CareerDay of HI ERN offered PhD students of the institute a concrete look into their own future: What opportunities are there after their time at the institute? What does the CareerCenter of Forschungszentrum Jülich offer? What career opportunities are there in science itself? And what opportunities are there in science management? How can a successful career start in industry be achieved?
The young scientists benefited from inspiring conversations with people who have successfully made their way in the academic world, founded start-ups or made a career in industry. The HI ERN doctoral students made intensive use of the opportunity to exchange ideas in lectures and personal discussions and to take away valuable impulses for their own career paths.
During speed dating, the participants were able to gain valuable insights into the companies Hydrogenious Technology GmbH, Schaeffler and Bosch and the respective career opportunities. The opportunities for personal exchange were used intensively and valuable contacts for the professional future were made.
In addition to a state-of-the-art research infrastructure, HI ERN, as a branch of Forschungszentrum Jülich, offers scientists excellent career opportunities in a very international environment. In this context, researchers benefit from the close networking that exists between Forschungszentrum Jülich, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen Nürnberg (FAU) and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin.
